Coltin is releasing a song a week out of Salt Lake City

A guitar-first songwriter with a channel dating to 2017 has spent the fall putting out one single after another on Waning Gibbous Record Co.

Coltin has spent the last six weeks on a steady release schedule. According to Apple Music's catalog listing, the Salt Lake City musician has put out four singles in 2026 on Waning Gibbous Record Co.: "Little Boat" on September 19, "Mess My Life Up" on September 26, "Time of Our Lives" on October 9 and "It's Time For Me To Leave" on October 16. A fifth song, "Why?", appeared on his YouTube channel in late October.

A channel with a long runway

The Coltin YouTube channel has existed since 2017, so the recent run is not an overnight start. The visualizer for "Mess My Life Up" is the clearest entry point: the song runs 2:42 per the Apple listing, and the video is billed as a visualizer. It had 99 views when checked on October 29, which is the scale of the project at this stage. The Spotify page for the track is where the single lives for streaming, though the page did not show play counts or monthly listeners when checked, so no streaming figures are cited here. The newest clip, "Why?", had 24 views on the same day, a reminder that this is a project at the very start of finding an audience.

Where it sits on the map

The sound does not sit neatly in one lane. Apple tags the singles as Singer/Songwriter and Alternative, while the artist's own Linktree points listeners to playlists of outlaw country, indie folk and Americana. The description under the newest video, for "Why?", name-checks Seattle grunge, Texas outlaw country, a hip-hop beat and a Sublime-style groove. That mix reads as a songwriter working from guitar songs outward, rather than a band chasing one scene. Song lengths stay disciplined: the tracks are compact, mostly between about 1:40 and 2:45 on the channel.

What to watch

The public record is thin: there is no third-party press yet, and the numbers are small. What exists is a consistent cadence and a label name attached to every 2026 release. The Linktree also carries a pre-save for a further song, "Halfway To Heaven." The questions are whether the weekly pace turns into an EP or album, and whether a live presence in Salt Lake City appears to match the recordings.
